Giving

At St Mary's we are almost entirely dependent upon donations to cover our financial costs. The vast majority of our income comes from members who give a regular amount each week or month. We are also immensely grateful for one off donations from those who are supportive of our work.

If you would like to give, you can do so by:

  • Placing money in the collection plate at a worship service
  • Using weekly dated envelopes which we provide, to give a promised weekly or monthly gift.
  • Setting up a standing order or direct debit, taking all the hassle out of giving.  If you would like to establish a bank order, contact the office for our details.
  • Using the Parish Giving Scheme, which is a national service allowing people to make regular, planned donations to their local church by Direct Debit. The administration is handled by a central charity who pass the full donation and any gift aid to St Mary’s on a monthly basis. This reduces the administration within St Mary’s and improves cash flow as any Gift Aid is claimed automatically. It also provides the opportunity to increase gifts annually in line with inflation, if desired. Any changes can be made by email, phone or letter to the Parish Giving Scheme. Please see https://www.parishgiving.org.uk/home/ for more information, or call 0333 002 1271. Our church reference number (Parish code) is 050605170.
  • By giving on-line at https://www.stewardship.org.uk/partners/20035871 (this also allows your donation to be gift aided).
  • By text sending the message STMARYRODCHENEY followed by the amount of up to £20 to 70085 e.g. STMARYRODCHENEY 5 to 70085 (This also allows your donation to be gift aided).
  • Including a legacy in your will.

However you give, if you pay tax, we can claim back money from the government. This turns each £1 into £1.25 so please tick “gift aid” on the form.
