Giving

St Mary's is almost entirely dependent upon donations to cover our financial costs.
We are hugely grateful to those members who give a regular amount each week or month; the vast majority of our income comes this way.

We are also immensely grateful for one off donations from those who are supportive of our work.

If you would like to give, the best ways are:

  • If you are a tax payer and wish to add Gift Aid:
    • The easiest way: use the Parish Giving Scheme to set up a regular direct debit. Click here.
Gift aid is reclaimed and paid to us automatically each month.
The whole of your regular monthly payment and gift aid will be paid to us with no commission or administration fee deducted.
If you like, you can choose to increase your gift annually by inflation.
You can make one-off donations, although these do incur a small administration fee (1.5%).
You can also use Parish Giving Scheme if you cannot or do not want to use Gift Aid.
Any changes can be made by email, phone or letter to the Parish Giving Scheme. Telephone:
0333 002 1271. Our church reference number (Parish code) is 050605170.
    • By giving on-line through Stewardship (we are partner number 20035871 - his also allows your donation to be gift aided although a small administration fee is charged). Click here.
    • Request weekly or monthly envelopes and complete a Gift Aid form to donate with Gift Aid by cash or cheque.
  • If you are not a tax payer or do not wish to claim Gift Aid:
    • Place cash or cheques in the collection plate at St Mary's Church.
    • Request weekly or montly envelopes if this would help you keep track of your cash donations. Call the office on 07434 658124 or email:  office
    • Make payments using the SumUp card machine in St Mary's Church.
    • You can also use Parish Giving Scheme to make regular payments even if you do not gift aid.
    • Set up a standing order or direct debit, taking all the hassle out of giving.  If you would like to establish a bank order, contact the office for our details.
  • We would also be very grateful if you would like to include a legacy in your will.

  • A note on Gift Aid.
If you are a UK taxpayer, you can make your donations to our church go significantly further through Gift Aid

—at absolutely no extra cost to you.
    • How it works:

For every £1 you give, the government gives our church an extra 25p

      .

    • The impact:

      A £20 monthly donation automatically becomes £25

, helping us fund vital community work and upkeep.

    • Who qualifies:

Anyone who pays enough UK Income Tax or Capital Gains Tax to cover the amount all charities claim on your donations in that tax year.
